[Cover] Mr. Elegance, bring it on.

“To be noticed without striving to be noticed, this is what elegance is about.”- Luciano Barbera. U know what, David Gandy, worldwide super male model, is the best and only person can represent it.
Cross the fence
Let’s give GQ Taiwan a big big big hand for praising them break the rule on choosing cover people. Inviting super male model as cover people on men’s fashion magazine is ordinary in other country, especially in USA and Europe. However, it’s GQ Taiwan ‘s first time doing this thing.

According to my statics of cover person in 2013 (very very simple statics, all u have to do is counting and distinguishing male from female) GQ Taiwan choose male celebrities for 7 times and female celebrities for 5 times. Let’s fly to other country to see what happened on GQ cover. GQ UK used 8 and 4, GQ US used 11 and 1, and this lucky girl is Rihanna.

In USA, GQ is an absolute men’s fashion mag. They set male celebrity as fashion icon whom u can idolize. As for UK and Taiwan, come on, GQ is the mag of  “men’s” fashion. So to speak, fashion and lifestyle are the heart of mag, not the stripped starlet. For the company which wants to get more and more profits, the best cover is which can sell the most copies. As my friend said “The less clothes on cover girl, the more copies it sells.” That really explains why I always confuse GQ Taiwan with FHM Taiwan.

Mr. David Dandy
Return of Elegance, the title of GQ Taiwan March issue, following up article is cover story of David Gandy. Being Dandy or elegant is the latest trend in men’s fashion and life style right now, and David is only man who represents this style the most. Let’s call him Mr. Elegance or Mr. Dandy for close.

Let’s back to the mag we talk about. As for the cover story of David, to be honest, little disappointed. Not because that David doesn’t exhibit his chiselled physique, is that I want to learn more stories about him. I mean, we all knew that whatever clothing puts on him, he can nail and sell it (except lace, I think). It will be interesting if we can get inside David deeper (the psycho way, dude). Like “Man of world” interviewed him last issue, he talked about his experience of car racing, shooting photo in Scotland field and something else. The story so was attractive that let me catch the other side of David, not the only side of sexy David.

Anyway, U made ur first step, GQ Taiwan. Keep walking as Johnny walker does all the time.
