[Series] Transparent - He , She or Who cares ?

“Transparent” makes the sex identity shaky.

“And I’m sorry  about the Mort and the Maura and the he and the she. I’m just a person and u r just a person. And here we are.” This is the line in Episode 6 of  “Transparent” (start shaking?).

“Transparent” is the series about a retired professor and the divorced father of three self-absorbed adult children, Mort Pfefferman, who comes out as “Trans” at his late life and start his(or her) journey of being a women. And he changes his name as “Maura”.

And this is not only his story. “Every single one of the characters in "Transparent" is in transition: They're all confronting truths in their lives -- some of them painful, some of them liberating, many of them both. “ the blogger, Maureen Ryan, wrote on huffingtonpost.

“Transparent” is labeled as comedy-drama and some reviewers put the sticks “Black comedy” on it (or dark comedy instead). Yet, it is totally not the comedy u used to watch (it won’t let u laugh at the end). Since it turns the way how u think of sexuality.

U can’t find any cliché plot or victim of bulling in “Transparent”. The director of “Transparent”, Jill Soloway, made her statement clearly about what issue and point that “Transparent” brings.

“One goal is to come at gender issues "comedically, sexually, sensually, with love, with desire, with pain -- and not just [have Moira be an example of] the victim or villain trope.” She told on huffingtonpost.

Yes, gender issue is the core in this series.  And the way they portray the sexuality will knock u out.  It makes u rethink what is male and female and what homosexual and heterosexual stands for and u can’t find any answer.

“In particular, Transparent wants to invent worlds that bridge the binary: Genderqueer, Boygirl, Girlboy, Macho Princess, and Officer Sweet Slutty Bear Captain are just a few incredibly confusing, gender-fucking concepts that come to mind.” According to Flaunt Magazine.

There is a scenario about Mort wants to go to restroom in a department store. It confuses him which restroom u can or should step in when he stands in front of two rooms and as soon as his daughter pulls him into women’s room, u know something will happen.

He draws a huge attention and conflicts as other women think he should go back to men’s room even he dress like a lady head to toe.

It occurs to me that there are more and more all-gendered restrooms in Europe and people get used to it and don’t see any problem with it. So, does he or she, male or female really matter?

He or she is just a person.
