[Cover Story] Love At First Sight

It’s a fairy tale about a prince and a prince, Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black.

Everyone knows clearly that there is an as important as Christams day comes after New Year, it is Valentine’s Day. This time, Out magazine puts this lovely couple on the cover and shares the story how they fall in love. If you don’t believe love at first sight, think twice after reading their story.

It starts from a dinner.

Black was convinced by his friend to attend a dinner party but then he was in a hoodie and Daley was late for 45 minutes. Since Daley arrived, Black had never taken his eyes off him and so had Daley. Daley confessed to Out that he hadn’t any clue about Black but one of Black’s friend texted Black that “He is googoleing you”.

That night, this duo kept checking each other sneakily and avoided eyes contacting (This is so cliché, be honest)

Before Black’s leaving, “And Tom took my phone, and he typed his number in with a winky face. At which point I felt I had confirmation that he was a gay. I’ve never in my life heard of a straight man putting his number in another man’s phone with a winky face.” Black told Out.

He also told Out that it is too good to be true and he thought that Daley couldn’t be into me. “I’m dressed in a hoodie”.

This is their first stage, and I think you can predict what happened between them at the second stage: non-stop texting. (Every couple has this stage)

“We spoke every day, non-stop. My phone would buzz, and we’d just be in constant communication, it was kind of insane, like there was nothing else around me.“ Daley said.

It’s funny what Daley’s mom said abouf Black when Daley asked Black to go to Plymouth to meet his friends and family. ”Oh yeah, he’s really nice; he makes great burgers.” After Daley told his mom that are in relationship, his mo replied” Well, Tom, he is lovely, and whatever makes you happy makes me happy.”

OK, what is the next stage when couple’s parents have no objection about their relationship? Getting married.

The story of their proposal is like a comedy. They both want to do this at the best place with best timing, it turned that the place either Daley or Black wanted to propose were full of people or under construction.

“I want it to be in a place that’s more ordinary, a place we can take our kids to one day and say, Hey, that’s where your daddy and I got engaged.” Black spoke out his idea place for proposal.

You know where did the duo make it eventually? At home, but by the time after Black coming out from bathroom to get ready for bed and only in his underwear. That second, Daley drops down on one knee and proposes to him.

“From the Golden Gate Bridge to the Tower Bridge without success, and finally it happened in our underwear.” Black said.

Black also talked about the feeling about being gay at his young age and discussed about what love means to him. Anyway, this couple is engaged and obviously, they are moving to their next life stage.
