[Style] It's A Beard Season, Isn't It ?

Beard can make a man, and probably, can save ur life.

I am not saying that the longer or thicker beard u grow, the longer u can live. I am saying about this project, Beard Season, which raises skin cancer awareness by shooting bearded person all walks of life. Including actors, style icons, sports stars, artists and models. (It looks like encyclopedia of beard! )

And u know what, these bearded people have flown from all around the world to Australia to join this collection.( spend their own money!)

U may wonder why doing portrait of bearded people to raise the skin cancer awareness. What’s the connection between beard and skin cancer? Actually, there is a sad story behind this concept. Jimmy Niggles, who started growing his beard after losing a friend to melanoma at the age of 26. Since the photographer, Mr Elbank, meeting him, Mr Elbank decided to devote himself to help the Beard Season cause. He recruited ever kind of beard people, including Ricki Hall, Nick Wooster, Chris Millington and Jimmy Niggles as well, to name a few, to do the portrait.

If u think beard only belongs to guy, think twice. Harnaam Kaur, a women has been growing her facial hair since she was just 16 as suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome which causes excess hair growth. She is the only bearded women in this project and it makes her brave and proud.

No matter Niggles, Elbank or the models, they all hope this project
can inspire you, your friends and family to book a skincheck for melanoma, one of the world’s deadliest cancers, to be more aware of skin cancer.

You can check beard season website here, and if u are one of the bearded person and want to devote ur self to it, u can be an ambassador for them.
